Western Blot - mad cow, BSE testing in cattle

Some places give feed to deer and other wildlife that has the bone meal and other render/tailings (name?) … some give deer corn at hunting spots.. some use the pellets … squirrels, birds and other animals eat this and it is passed on as chronic wasting disease. Those animals then use the bathroom at some areas and the prions are dispersed in the ground and then soaked up via root systems in grazing herds, urine in feeding troughs from small animals who scavenge looking for other forms of food within the pig, cattle, poultry and other industries and there ya go. The only food that is being regulated is cattle… all must be regulated. Even parts of cattle, pig and others/horses/sheep, etc. are then turned into dog food, cat food and other foods… global …

The western blot is needed to test all cattle regardless of age because it takes a while for the BSE to show up so by thinking if a cow is slaughtered before a certain age when signs and symptoms show up, no one would know the wise.

ALL cattle must be monitored before placement in the human food chain!!!!!!!!! Regardless of age!!!!!

Adding humans to the capitalistic money making aspect of it… and not caring about our health and welfare is a crime most punishable in the laws of nature which is why there is the animal to human transmission of TSE’s.

Place proper monitoring and nature will get back on track. Cow, pig, sheep/scrapie, poultry of all types and small primates such as squirrell… there are your “brain plaques” which is a folded and corrupt form of protein/prions. Nothing can destroy a prion… heat, chemical, etc. When someone shows a new symptom… the name of the disease is then changed behind the scenes so that the 1 in a million isn’t figured out and so that those with Alzheimers never get a brian autopsy to pin point the realm of beginnings of brain matter breakdown and gliosis.

CJD, GSS, familial fatal insomnia, Alzheimers, Kuru, Huntington’s… how many names must one basic breakdown have to pin point the culprit unless it is used as a method of hiding the need for proper surveillance of “foods” in the food chain that would ensure safety to life itself on a global basis.

End to “cherry picking” which cattle would be tested. End to adding downer cows into the food chain. Monitor slaughter houses to ensure that if any part of the meat/food falls on the floor or in “dirty” bins via the slaughter process… that those pieces remain in the “renders” and not picked up and added to the food chain simply by “washing it off” and throwing it into the human consumption chain.

Brain, spine, spleen… heaviest areas of contamination. When a cow is “put down” a high pressure air gun/ or gun is used which forces brain matter and spinal fluids to flow through the body during an “anxiety/flushing” during the death process… massive chemical bleeding through out the body, thus reasoning for proper surveillance with BSE diagnostics. No more sweeping it under the covers and hiding facts just for profitable monetary gain.

Good points, but is is a mistake to blame this on unbridled capitalism. It is currently *illegal* in the United States for a beef producer to have her/his cattle tested for BSE. Some producers tried doing this and were informed by USDA that they could not do it w/o violating the law.

If some producers were to test 100% of their cattle, and then advertize them as "tested-BSE-free," it's almost certain their cattle would command a premium and most other producers would follow suit.

Some producers are opposed to testing simply because they are using practices that are less safe, and because testing would raise their costs. USDA is playing a dangerous game siding with them.

Charles... would it be better classified as bureaucracy that holds the hands back of those who wish to do further testing?

Thankfully someone (USDA) sent out that test to the EU facility and proved that previous "negative" results were in fact erroneous in the cattle in WA state.

My reason to post is to interject that there is a necessity for the Western Blot testing so that we can advertise for international trades in Russia, Japan and so on. It would only help our economy and others who lack beef in their lands.

Putin just rejected the beef trade in the last G8 meeting and Japan has balked at the idea of BSE infected product for a substantial time before that.

Seeing Putin's reaction to the trade agreements along with everyone else's during the G8 was a wake up call for me personally... not that I could as an individual do anything. We would do best to ensure everyone's health, starting at "home base" so to speak. I would have refused the beef trades also.. in addition to how the US is so harsh on others but is quite flagrant with their own dismissable acts through trade agreements.

Some small producers advertise free graze and those cattle do sell for a bit higher.

I only chime in on it after the "grandmother" of my children succumbed to CJD (Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease). It was horrible watching her waste away.

Thanks for your response.
